Holy smokes, holy smokes, holy smokes — we cannot get over that INCREDIBLE photo from Taft Point in Yosemite National Park. Dreamy, right? We totally + completely understand why Mary + Mike wanted to do a day-after-wedding session in Yosemite (they toyed with the idea of getting married here, too.). In case the names Mary + Mike ring a bell, that’s probably because we recently shared their Colorful California Wedding on the site, in two parts: here + here!
Mary tells us: As a photographer, I absolutely LOVE the idea of taking wedding portraits in a place that is totally different from the wedding itself. It gives you the opportunity to take photos with less pressure, and it also allows you to switch up your look, if you so desire! I wore my hair down with a flower crown for the wedding, but ultimately decided on a romantic up-do for this session.
Thinking about Yosemite or Taft Point? These photos by Kristen Booth Photography will definitely convince you!
The Forest Below
Mike and I made the session into part of our mini-honeymoon, and we will cherish these photos forever. It was honestly such a fun adventure, hiking around in our special outfits and exploring a place we love so much together, right after our wedding. To anyone considering doing a day-after session, (which, BTW, can be whenever you want it to be!) I can’t recommend it highly enough!
The Outfits
Isn’t she an angel?! Oh, and that darling hairpiece? It’s by Mignonne Handmade. Mary tells us: Jenny from Bride Boutique LA, now Love & Lace, helped me design a custom hand-dyed silk headpiece with Mignonne Handmade that perfectly matched the pink tones in my dress. Heather Andrea’s hair and makeup team created my dream look!
Mary’s gown is the Rivini Bernie Dress, from The White Dress.
Mary + Mike rocked their wedding day gear (looking like absolute royalty, might we add)… but with an added bonus: sneakers! Well, at least for the hike up to Taft Point. :)
Taft Point
Isn’t this location incredible? We’ve been told it’s not too far of a hike from the ground floor, either! Just make sure to bring boots or sneakers. :)
Can’t. Get. Over. These. Photos.
We definitely think the trek out to Yosemite National Park is WORTH IT. Especially when you can get photos as epic as this!!
Like a dream… We’re so thrilled for you, M+M!!
Who else wants to do a day-after-wedding session? Where would you like to go?!
